Ms. Nicole Rowe Small

Ms. Nichole Rowe Small is the school counselor at UNMS. She is a graduate of City College University as well as Columbia University. She has two Master's degrees in Counseling Psychology, one specifically in educational counseling. She loves traveling the world with her family and friends and enjoys new experiences and cultures. She has served children in many capacities throughout her career. Ms. Rowe Small has been a K-8 Family Living teacher, an elementary dance teacher and a 3rd grade Collaborative Team Teacher. She believes in taking care of the whole child and wants to hear every child's story, hopes, dreams as well as what makes them angry and anxious.

Ms. Rowe Small also likes being the advisor of the Community Awareness Club at UNMS where they raise monies and food for Breast Cancer, St Jude, City Harvest, Keep-A-Child-Alive and AIDS awareness, The Multiple Sclerosis Walk and looking forward to the March of Dimes this year. We encourage empathy, philanthropy and giving back.  She wants students to understand that others contributed in order for them to be here and they have to pay it forward. She also likes engaging my students in community building activities such as participation in the United Nations talks against social ills around the world, Career Day, our school garden, International Women's Day, poetry and poster contests.

Ms. Rowe-Small has been a member of the UNMS community since 2005.
