Gomez, Christopher

Mr. Gomez has been teaching since 2004. He received his dual masters degree in Special Education and Secondary education from Queens College. Eight of his teaching years have been in the Lower East Side, he loves the neighborhood, enjoys the diversity of people, food, and things to do. He is a lover of learning and is always looking for new and inventive ways to work with students. As a new member of the UNMS community and as a Learning Specialist, he strives to help all of his eighth grade students to graduate and move on to the high schools of their choice. Mr Gomez teaches by the Sagen tenet that "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." He wants to bring these incredible things to all his students.

When not at work, Mr. Gomez is an aficionado of the finer things in life: sneakers, food, and spending time with his nieces. He is also a rabid fan of the local sports teams: Mets, Islanders, Knicks, and the Jets. He obviously must be passionate fan as these teams have a propensity for losing. He also enjoys spending time with family on the weekends and traveling across the country to visit his friends.

Mr. Gomez has been part of the UNMS community since 2016.
