Garcia, Muhammad

Muhammad Garcia grew up in the South Bronx where he developed his love for volunteering in advocacy and social work programs such as Police Athletic League (P.A.L.), Maria Gorreti Youth Group, and the Mullaly Park Recreation Center, just to name a few. He  has workedwith families for over 10 years between non-profit sectors such as Youth Services, Housing, Health, Nutrition, Substance Abuse and Education. Throughout the years he held positions such as the Director of School Culture, Family Coordinator, and Outreach and Recruitment Specialist within a charter school setting.

Mr. Garcia's experience began in 2004 as the Recreation Program Coordinator at Alianza Dominicana in Washington Heights. This led to an opportunity as Director of School Culture for 5 years followed by positions within nonprofits such as Ariva, Community Access and Catholic Charities.

In his role as Parent Coordinator, he is committed to serve as facilitator in helping to bridge the gap between teachers, parents, and students. Mr. Garcia is here to assist you in finding answers to the questions that you may have throughout the school year. His goal is to help build a great partnership between UNMS and its families through parent engagement. This will make it easier for our families to resolve issues at the school level and help you find the information and services you need in order for your scholars to succeed within the already excellent school established at UNMS.

Mr. Garcia has been a member of the UNMS community since 2015.
