Ms. Fatima Rodriguez

Ms. Fatima Rodriguez, also known as Ms. Cookie, was born in Puerto Rico and was raised in the Lower East Side for most of her life. Her education has primarily come from local schools like PS 2, Corlears JHS 56, Washington Irving HS and Seward Park HS Annex (currently known as University Neighborhood HS).

She graduated from NYC Technical College across the Brooklyn Bridge. Her daughter and husband also attended schools in the Lower East Side. Now she work with middle school students at UNMS as the school secretary. It is never a dull moment here at UNMS. Ms. Rodriguez works with students, teachers, staff, parents and meet people from all walks of life. Serving the public is something that comes naturally to her and she loves doing it. Coming from a large family and from a mother who was a social worker has definitely prepared her to work with children. Like the great Pablo Picasso said “When you enjoy what you do, it’s not work.” Ms. Rodriguez says his words make a lot of sense and send us excellent counsel on how we should guide our children.

Ms. Rodriguez has been a member of the UNMS community since 2007.
